Packers Agree to Terms With 3rd Round S Morgan Burnett

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms with third-round safety Morgan Burnett.

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms with third-round safety Morgan Burnett.

Financial terms of the four-year deal were not disclosed.

Burnett totaled 235 tackles, including 13.5 for a loss and a quarterback, with 14 interceptions and 27 total passes defensed during his three-year career at Georgia Tech. Burnett earned first-team All-ACC honors and second-team All-American honors in 2008, his first season as a starter.

Burnett was second-team All-ACC as a junior, and opted to forego his final year of eligibility to enter the 2010 NFL Draft.

The Packers used the 71st overall pick on the 6-1, 209-pound Burnett, who is expected to compete with unsigned restricted free agent Atari Bigby for the starting strong safety position. Burnett is also expected to be an immediate contributor on special teams.

Burnett reaching a deal leaves first-round offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga and second-round defensive lineman Mike Neal as the Packers' unsigned 2010 draft picks.

The Packers open training camp on July 30.
