Eagles Reportedly Interested in Acquiring Osi Umenyiora

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio tells Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News that the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in acquiring defensive end Osi Umenyiora from the New York Giants.

"ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, who is down in Philly, tells me the Eagles are interested in trading for Osi Umenyiora", Vacchiano tweeted.

While inter-division trades of players at impact positions are rare, the Eagles showed earlier this month that they're game when they traded the franchise's all-time leader in pass completions, pass attempts, passing yards, touchdowns, and passer rating to the Washington Redskins for a pair of picks, including the 37th overall pick in this year's draft.

Umenyiora, who is coming off a hip injury, has somewhat backed off his request for a trade in recent weeks, even attending the Giants' off-season workouts. Still, if the Eagles are a motivated enough buyer, they have a hard time passing up an opportunity to trade an expensive, somewhat unhappy player coming off an injury.
