Eagles Activate Jackson, Herremans Off PUP List

he Philadelphia Eagles have removed offensive linemen Jamaal Jackson and Todd Herremans from the "Active/PUP" list, indicating that they have passed their physicals are ready to practice.

Jackson, 30, started 63 consecutive games at center before tearing his ACL late in the 2009 season. Veteran offensive lineman Nick Cole had been working with the first-team offensive line throughout the off-season, but Mike McGlynn got the start in the Eagles' pre-season opener against Jacksonville.

Herremans has started 61 of 63 games since being chosen in the fourth-round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Saginaw Valley State. Herremans missed the first five weeks of the 2009 season with a stress fracture in his left foot. The same foot kept Herremans from participating in the OTAs, and prompted him to visit a specialist in North Carolina.

Both Jackson and Herremans will likely be on a veteran's practice schedule, and will receive several days off for the remainder of training camp.

The Eagles have also released first-year punter Ken Parrish, who punted three times with a net average of 35.7 yards against the Jaguars on Thursday night. Parrish, who played his college ball at East Strousbourg State and worked as a police officer before giving the NFL a shot, was not expected to push Sav Rocca for the punting job.
