Both Rodgers and Shailene Woodley are lifelong California residents. If Rodgers gets traded to Denver, which is very possible, it won't be because "his girlfriend lives there"...because she doesn't.

Any trade to Denver should automatically include the 25 year old Drew Lock, QB who was a 2nd round selection. He has been developing and would give Love a real battle for the starting position. I would certainly expect Lock would start in this scenario giving Love more time to develop.

Too many excuses. Does Jordan have “it” or not? He’ll be done with his rookie contract before he learns the qb position. His college major was football right?

If you think back, ARs first two preseasons were disasters. AR had the famed QB School and no covid to % up his preseasons...

Jordan Love has all the physical tools he'll ever need, and while he might not play as well as AR did his first season, I do expect our record will be better. Love will have a lot better OL than AR did in 2008 and 2009! (That's for sure and for certain!)

Bottom line, we can't afford AR or DA and field a decent team. (No matter how good Russ Ball is at his job.)

I believe Packers will be more interested in TE (Noah Fant) than in another WR, who are dime and dozen and many good young receivers are draftable in this year draft.

The Packers don't have the bargaining power for that. Denver (or any other team) can just wait them out and force them to release Rodgers.

When the stars are aligning in this way, it gives #12 far more power in the process (he can refuse to redo his deal with another team or refuse to play anywhere else)--which can really limit what the Packers can get in return for him.

That’s a good point; I hadn’t considered that angle. I still think there are a lot of countervailing factors: Rodgers age, decline in skills and judgment, his contract situation and the Packers lack of bargaining power. And how much do Rodgers and Hackett really want to work together?

They have cap and draft capital and a HC whom Rodgers knows as well as a location he might find more accommodating in terms of his domestic interests.

I’m fine with a Lock trade in principle, but I think he’s got as many problems to address as Love. Cheap competition is one thing, but he’s going into his 4th year on his rookie contract. That makes him a rental most likely and that doesn’t seem to make sense in practice. Need either longer cheap contract if one seeks competition or a more proven player if one is looking to give Love longer.

Remember that the receiving team is only on the hook for the cash value of ARod's deal going forward. The Packers have already paid his signing bonuses and other dead money. From that perspective, he only costs about $28M on his current deal in 2022 rather than the $46M cap hit the Packers are looking at right now when you add in his dead money.

Whichever team acquires him will need to tear up his deal and write him a new one right away, but the initial value of his deal (or any players the Packers get in return) are not a function of all that signing bonus money.

A first year HC which Rodgers loves. Running the same offense Rodgers just learned for 3 years, and is arguably a first ballot HOF'er is a recipe for an immediate turn around in Denver. If I'm Hackett, it's a dream scenario. He could have AR for the length of his first contract. If I'm Hackett, I make sure I draft a QB this year to groom behind AR.

The Packers biggest mistake is thinking AR was done and drafting Love too early.

If Gutey has the guts to Tag & Trade DA to the Broncos as well, Hackett, AR, and DA are set up for 3 or 4 year run, and the Packers are set up to move on rather painlessly with plenty of cap space to accomplish their mission. Win/Win!
