Report: Torn ACL feared for Rashan Gary

The veteran pass rusher is undergoing an MRI to confirm the extent of the injury

The disjointed and disheartening performance by the Packers in Detroit was one thing.

The injuries Green Bay sustained were something else entirely, with one early report casting doubt onto the return of one of the team's star players for the remainder of the season.

From ESPN's Jeremy Fowler:

Gary has been having a strong year and losing him would obviously be a significant blow to the Packers defense.

The Packers, who picked up Gary's 5th year option this past spring, will most likely be without their star outside linebacker for the first part of the 2023 season.

Regardless of the extent of Gary's injury, expect to see more of rookie pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare going forward.

Losing great players in a lost season is adding insult to injury. I wouldn’t be surprised to see several “business decisions“ made through the end of the season, a demoralizing, revolting development.

Rodgers contract has this team wrapped in a big ribbon. the only recourse I see is us losing a lot of first string players whose contracts are up due to lack of funds. What other choice do they have.

Just terrible luck for Gary in a contract year.

With the Packers cap-strapped primarily by the deals with 12 and 69, it seems highly unlikely that he (or Jenkins for that matter) will get the hoped for long-term deals. Teams simply cannot reward past performance.

Unfortunately for Gary, the Bakh contract and injury will be fresh on everyone's minds.

Hey Gutt now is your chance to make sure you give him that huge new contract in case you might lose him. You can be the hero again and show the fans how much you care about past performance: Baktiari, Alexander, Rodgers. Ya give that farm away baby.
IMO without this injury Gary was bolting just like Perry did. He wants da mooney all right. Screw the pack. Now those plans are out the window.

Perry didn't bolt, he was released, and that was about 4 years too late, and not one team offered him a spot after that release.

Oh man. Already too many ACL injuries these last 2-3 years and we have seen that the players haven't been the same after their return.
Wish Gary a speedy recovery. But with the cap situation next year and the holes seems to be widening in this team this coming off season. They would need a OLB, safety, WR and Oline and also making some critical decisions on some FA's next yr. It'll be a hell of an off season.

They said it was his ankle. The strength of last years draft was the edge. The future of Gutey has blown up in our faces.
