Railbird Central Podcast: The Great Cornerback Debate of 2014

Scott McKenna joins the show to help discuss the Packers cornerback position and who should receive playing time.

Episode 469

Joining us as he does the first Friday of every month, Scott McKenna of the Talkin' S-Mac blog takes part in the Great Cornerback Debate of 2014. I make the case for Casey Hayward to get more playing time, but McKenna argues that it shouldn't come at the expense of taking Sam Shields and Tramon Williams off the field. It makes for one interesting discussion, no matter which side you agree with.

I understand Hayward doesn't have elite speed, but I see no reason he can't cover the outside cb position next year opposite Shields. Hayward simply understands route concepts and is like glue in coverage. Not to mention his ability to pick off balls at a crazy rate. If he played on the outside, the ball would be in the air longer and I believe would lead to more plays on the ball for Hayward.
