Step away from the ledge, Packers fans. Although the Packers suffered a season-opening loss to the 49ers, there's plenty of reasons for optimism. For one, Morgan Burnett and Casey Hayward will eventually return, which should be a boost to the Packers secondary. And then there was the encouraging play of wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, who both missed time in training camp due to injury. Not to be outdone, the job of the Packers front seven in stopping the 49ers run was a thing of beauty.

I just want to comment on the sense of relief brought about by indefinitely locking up our two studs this offseason. Don't get me wrong, we didn't get them at a discount, but the fact that we got it done is truly settling.

How awesome was it to watch #12 and #52 ball out yesterday without wondering in the back of your mind, "shit, how much was that play gonna cost us at the negotiating table"?
