I've seen Goodson get his number called in 11 on 11 and do very well as a ball carrier, including some big gains. I have not seen him stand out in pass pro or other duties MLF has said are essential for RB #3.

I conclude nothing from this except that the competition for this roster spot is still very much alive. Gutey adding #46 McCrary puzzles me but meh.

Nice WIN! First preseason test.

Van Ness had some pressures against Cincy's RT Jackson Carman. Now Brenton Cox is getting consistent pressure against him. Carman was the 46th pick in 2021, but he was a healthy inactive 13 times last year. He might just not be very good. In any event, looks like the Packers' backups are better than Cincy's.

Lot of players to like: Wicks, Wilson, Doubs, Reed, Toure, Jonathan Ford, Valentine, Moore, Hooper holding up late. I am a little leery about noting the offensive 1s since I don't think Cincy played any 1s, ditto for the defense. Still, liked Nixon and the safeties in general looked better than I expected, tho I don't remember Gaines. Carpenter as well.

Tons of paw-satives tonight. Happy with Love's night. Clifford may not have an "NFL arm", but he's a football player and I like the cut of his jib. Reminder: Jay Cutler, Jeff George and David Klingler had "NFL arms".

Very exciting first game. I was impressed with the Packers getting pressure on the Bengals QB most of the game (and not just our 1s vs. their 2s). Plenty of pressure in the 2nd half when the bottom of the depth chart was seeing most of the snaps. Some nice ball-hawking skills by AJJ and Sapp? (both with near acrobatic INTs). Valentine continues to impress. Wilson - where did we get that guy and if he keeps it up we may not be able to stash him on the PS. Other than an overthrow of Musgrave, I think Love looked like a NFL QB ready to lead his team. Was I the only one who thought he was throwing on the run more than he needed to as he wasn't really under pressure? Thought maybe they were emphasizing that today as that has been his only real reported weakness with the accuracy on those throws. Definitely took a little time for the rust to come off then our 3s crushed their 3s. Bisaccia clearly irritated after Anders first PAT miss. No camera shots on his second. He's just hitting the ball with the wrong part of his foot (both kicks were dead on contact). Man we have a WR stable. Cutdowns are gonna be tough or they might keep 7 again. Looks like Tyler Davis will be out awhile and no word on Jones or Tenuta yet.
