Packers vs. Seahawks - 2017 Game Predictions from CheeseheadTV.com

 GAME PREDICTIONS - 2017 Week 1

Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks

Name Record   Pick Prediction
Andrew 0-0 Green Bay Packers 21-14
This is a tough one out of the gate, especially as the Seahawks added Sheldon Richardson to an already nasty defensive line. That said, I think that Rodgers gets some good protection, which should mean he can find his receivers effectively. I also feel that with that porous OL in Seattle, the Packers defense will have a good day.
Andy 0-0 Green Bay Packers 23-21
Green Bay's defense is going to come up big and hold Wilson and Lacy to three scores. A missed Blair Walsh field goal will be the difference in the end. Green Bay starts 1-0.
Chris P 0-0 Green Bay Packers 27-20
I think we see a close game between these two teams, but in my opinion, Aaron Rodgers will be just a little better than Russell Wilson. Playing at Lambeau gives the Packers the edge.
Chris W 0-0 Green Bay Packers 21-10
Russell Wilson & Co. struggle against an improved Packers defense and Aaron Rodgers starts his MVP campaign with a bang.
Cory 0-0 Green Bay Packers 24-20
This is a game that screams double tight end formations for Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers will have a hard time passing to the edges vs. one of the best secondaries in the NFC. Which is why free agent acquisitions Lance Kendricks and Martellus Bennett will expose Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright over the middle.
David 0-0 Green Bay Packers 27-24
In the two meetings since their disastrous meltdown at the NFC Championship game, the Packers have had the Seahawks’ number. That said, don’t expect a similar result to last year’s emphatic 38-10 win. Seattle poses one of the league’s elite defenses. If the Packers can torment Russell Wilson like they did in December, though, their odds of winning dramatically increase.
Elisha 0-0 Green Bay Packers 27-23
Wilson is 0-2 in his career at Lambeau, losing both of those games by double digits. I expect Sunday's game to be closer. The return of Earl Thomas will make a world of a difference for the Seahawks defense. When Thomas was not on the field last year Seattle allowed a QBR that was 22 points higher than when he was active. I'm predicting a one possession win for the Packers.
Jason 0-0 Green Bay Packers 27-24
Week 1 always brings a few surprises but I don't see one at Lambeau Field in this game.  The Packers offense at home is a better strength than Seattle's vaunted defense.  Advantage good guys and the Packers get a big win that will loom large later this season.
Jersey Al 0-0 Green Bay Packers 33-24
The Packers and Seahawks always seem to play memorable games in one way or another. "We want the ball and we're going to score," The Snow Globe, the Fail Mary, the Bostick Bobble. Nothing overly interesting is going to happen this game, just a mostly comfortable win powered by what will be the best offense in the league in 2017 (and just enough defense).
Michelle 0-0 Green Bay Packers 28-24
When the Packers have beaten the Seahawks, they've beaten them considerably, to the tune of 38-10 in December 2016 and 27-17 in September 2015. But opening week is a tricky beast, and no one needs to be reminded that the Seahawks stunned the Packers 36-16 to open the 2014 season. However, that was on Seattle's turf, and this matchup is at Lambeau Field; plus, the Packers offense has only gotten better since then, which is scary.
Ross 0-0 Green Bay Packers 31-21
Ultimately Green Bay has a stronger roster than they did in 2016 when they beat Seattle by four touchdowns.  Seattle returns Earl Thomas, who is a huge factor, especially for Seattle, but it's not going to be enough.  Rodgers will target Lane and Chancellor and dispatch the Seahawks in an easier manner than anticipated.
Zach 0-0 Green Bay Packers 31-26
The Packers will avoid their infamous "slow start" that has plagued them in playoff seeding over the last few years. They'll have it together right out of the gate and beat the Seahawks, thanks to a high-powered offense.

I'm not Betting the game. I don't like GB -3 against anyone except Seattle or the Pats. Still, I don't like it here enough to bet the game.

The Money Line GB -160 -165 tells me GB Wins the game. Too much to Lay Down for me. I'll find a better spot.

Had GB last year, when everyone was the other way. There has been No Hype on this one.

I think GB wins, but I'm sitting the 1st 2 out, unless GB is Pick-UM next week.

Just heard Bulaga is out. Packers ? - chickens 19

Well, here we are, lets see how the backup RT does? I for one am very worried about this. I dont have much faith in Murphy, and no faith in Spriggs, at this point in their careers.

Run, Aaron, run!

Well I guess it will be Baptism by Fire at RT as the order of the day. Maybe this will prove to be a blessing and we will find out day one if we have a capable backup.

Yeeesh. Not how I wanted to wake up today.

The loss of Bulaga is a concern but it is somewhat mitigated by our blocking TEs. We know we have RBs who can pass protect as well. Field position and stopping the Seattle run game will be keys for the Packers to win. I like the Pack 31 - 19. Thanks, Since '61
