Packers vs. Raiders Game Predictions from CheeseheadTV.com

 GAME PREDICTIONS Week 15

Green Bay Packers vs. Oakland Raiders

Name Record   Pick Prediction
Nagler 7-6 Green Bay Packers 24-21
Green Bay rides Lacy and Starks again on offense while doing just enough to slow down Carr and the Raiders offense.
Czech 9-4 Green Bay Packers 31-21
Charles Woodson scores three touchdowns: one on a pick-six, one on a fumble return and one one a punt return for old time's sake. But the Packers still win comfortably despite Woodson's heroics.
Bracco 9-4 Green Bay Packers 22-19
The Packers offense awoke from it's slumber as Mike McCarthy committed to running the ball and for once, didn't abandon it. The Raiders are very capable of an upset here, but the Packers defense comes through when needed in a nailbiter.
Tallitsch 8-5 Green Bay Packers 31-20
The Pack is finally back, at least for now. They turn in their second solid performance, led by Lacy and Starks and a rejuvenated McCarthy calling the plays. I expect to see more slants and quick play action passes than we have seen all season.
Garda 8-5 Green Bay Packers 27-14
Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars, Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Star Wars, Star Wars, Raiders = Empire, Star Wars, Star Wars. Aside from that breakdown, the Packers have started to find their groove offensively and while Khalil Mack is a huge problem, if Mike McCarthy continues to get the offense back to basics, Mack's factor will be limited. Offensively, Amari Cooper has hit the rookie wall and has been contained of late, and thew Packers will be able to limit him and Derek Carr throughout the game.
  9-4 Green Bay Packers 60-0
Packers roll.
Jennerjohn 8-5 Green Bay Packers 26-13
With Eddie Lacy running strong and the defense looking like a pack of hungry wolves, the Packers are a tough out. It also doesn’t hurt that the Raiders are ranked 28th of 32 in passing defense — and that’s with safety Charles Woodson playing out his mind at age 39. Quick two-and-three-step drops are the recipe for success against red-hot pass rusher Khalil Mack.
Perone 8-5 Oakland Raiders 27-21
By now, you all know where I'm coming from.  I just hope it's not a Charles Woodson pick six that makes the difference.  Run Eddie, run!  That's the key for Green Bay as they try for a perfect 2-0 in the Bay area this season.
Snowden 9-4 Green Bay Packers 27-20
The play calling change seemed to rejuvenate the offense, but I won't be convinced that they're back until I see it a couple of weeks in a row. Worried about Sam Shields being out, so giving the Raiders a chance to score 20. Packers will win, won't be nail biter.
Albrecht 7-6 Green Bay Packers 27-13
I have a totally different vibe from the team after this victory.  McCarthy's involvement in his offense will make a difference from here on out.  The Raiders are an ascending team but still a bottom tier unit.  The Packers are fighting for favorable playoff seeding.  This one means more to the Packers and gets them the win.
Reuter 8-5 Green Bay Packers 31-17
The Raiders may have just beaten the Broncos on the road, but those are two teams trending downwards. The future promise of the Raiders offense is absolutely still present, but they have a lot of work to do. They've lost 4 of their last 6 and in their last 5 games they have scored less than 17 points per game and no more than 21 points. The Raiders are a young, up and coming team who needs to be taken seriously. In a way the young Raiders lead by the old vet Charles Woodson (KG) remind me a lot of my favorite basketball team, the Timberwolves. The Raiders keep it close for a while but the Packers eventually end up capitalizing in the 4th and win
Olson 8-5 Green Bay Packers 20-13
Since 2008, the Packers are 0-5 against AFC opponents on the road in Week 15. However, I think the Packers will come out of Oakland with a hard-fought win and clinch a playoff berth. With Mike McCarthy calling plays for the second straight week, the offense should show some more signs of improvement. Blocking Khalil Mack and getting consistent pressure on Derek Carr will be key for the Packers.
Hobbes 9-4 Green Bay Packers 27-21
While the Packers were able to take advantage of the Cowboys terrible run defense, this week Mike McCarthy finally gets the passing game going against a below average Oakland pass defense.
Strupp 7-6 Green Bay Packers 20-10
I need to see it in consecutive weeks, but encouraged by the offense's improved play. Mack vs the OTs will be the highlig
Kruse 8-5 Green Bay Packers 24-20
One of the rookie cornerbacks creates a huge late turnover against Derek Carr to secure a win for the visitors.

I didn't think hoping all is well with Jay Hodgson would earn a dislike!

A Packer sweep with the picks? Seems like when everyone is high on the Pack, they sink to a new low. Pack offense explodes finally and its not close. 44-20.

Hi 4th - not quite a sweep, Jason Perone is going with Oakland. He's hanging on to Woodson which I can't blame him for. Maybe we can sign him for the playoffs! Go Pack! Thanks, Since '61

If the Packers do not beat themselves they should come away with a victory. The Raiders offense has trouble scoring points without turnovers. Last week in their win at Denver they only had 100 yards of offense. At the half they actually had a -12 yards of offense and then Denver gave the game away. In any case the Packers run game keeps Khalil Mack at bay and the defense is solid again. I like the Pack, 27-16.
BTW, AL - Olson's pick on the Dallas game in the article is nearly as late as the old Packer Report was in getting to my childhood home back in the Bronx, NY. Maybe a wake up call is in order.
Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

I sure do not miss the days of Packer Report. Compared to today's media and technology, that was the stone age.

Tundra - it was the stone age but it was my only lifeline to the Packers in those dark days of the 70s in particular. After the Lombardi era the Packer games were not televised very often due to their poor records. I had to follow via the scoring updates on TV and the New York newspapers. There wasn't much sports talk radio either so I depended on the Packer Report for game details and personnel updates. Can't complain about today's technology and instant communication. To top it all we have this great blog which enables us to communicate with our fellow Packer fans from everywhere. Go Pack! Thanks, Since '61

I hear you. Lifeline is a perfect way to put it. I too depended on it in the bad times of the 70s and 80s. Living in the tri-state NY area I know exactly what you mean. I would hope every week for the game to be on Channel 3,which was rare. Most times there wasn't even two lines in the papers after the game. Sometimes not at all. A friend of mine always said it was because the Packers kicked the Giants ass so much in the 60s. The price we paid but the 60s was worth it.

Trump, I am concerned about this game as well. I originally thought GB would drop this one. It opened at GB -2 1/2. That did not look good for GB. The game has now moved to GB -3 1/2, still not the greatest line for GB in this game, but it's moving in the right direction. Based on experience, I can see GB winning now, but not covering. GB can easily lose this game, but are capable of winning it big. I personally wouldn't mind if GB drops this one. I think it's too early to start their run. I'd rather see them get this team completely healthy, even if it means dropping this game. I have complete confidence in MM. He has the prize in site, & knows the best way to get there.LVT

Trump, That's 8 in a row for me. If you open that Casino, I'm coming in to clean you out. This team is under the Radar. Put some $$$ on them. I really don't care about the next 2 weeks. I want this team healthy in 3 weeks. I heard a lot of Bad Mouthing of MM on the blog. I wouldn't trade him for any coach. Way to go Pack!!LVT
