After re-watching the Packers game, here are three plays that made me go hmmm, for various reasons.

Let Love Rule - With Jordan Love being the hot topic du jour, I thought I would dedicate this "Three Plays..." to the man himself. However, since I never like to go with the obvious, you won't be seeing video of his touchdown pass here. Or any other of his completed passes, of which there were six in nine attempts. This might be reach just to be different, but I'm going to highlight the three incompletions. So here we go.

Aaron Jones - Everything about this play was perfect, except for Jones dropping the pass. After coming on at the 11:11 mark of the fourth period and throwing th TD pass to Watson to make it a one score game, Love got to sit on the bench for seven minutes. He got to watch the Eagles go on a nine-play, field goal scoring drive (eight runs) that killed roughly seven minutes of the fourth quarter. Way to go defense! Anyway, Love and the offense get the ball just before the two minute warning. He completes a quick 15 yard pass to Watson. At the two minute warning, Aaron Jones is split out wide and finds that infamous "turkey hole" between the cornerback and safety. Love takes the snap in shotgun, takes three short steps, sets his feet, stands in the pocket and gets the ball out quickly. It's a perfect pass, as Collingsworth said, and the normally sure-handed Jones just flubs it. It would have been a 20-yard completion. Love gets an A+ on this one.

Watson - After hitting Lazard for a 17-yard completion, the Packers have the ball on the Philly 21 yard line. Again, Love is in shotgun and gets himself set.  Christian Watson is split out wide left and is looking for him downfield but doesn't like what he sees. Meanwhile, the Eagles DL run a stunt with the left DE looping inside and bull-rushing Runyan back towards Love. Love feels the pressure and escapes the collapsing pocket. Looking downfield, he might have Lazard, but Allen turns upfield, perhaps wanting to draw the DB back with him thinking Love might decide to run.thinking Love was going to run. With Lazard not available, he spots Watson, who has used that 4.3 speed to streak across the end zone to make himself available to Love (great to see that from the rookie). Love sees a potential TD and throws it low, where hopefully only Watson could reach it, but it was just out of his reach. While Love's awareness and decision-making were spot on made a nice play, the pass didn't quite make it to Watson. Love gets a B- on this one.

Cobb - Two plays later, after a 6-yard completion to Robert Tonyan (who needs to just keep running after the catch and stop trying to put moves on people), the ball is on the Eagles 15 yard line. Love in shotgun again, sets himself and is looking left but two Eagles DL are bearing down on him. He finds an escape route between them and quickly spots Cobb breaking open just past the goal line. On the run, he lets it fly and it's a foot or two behind Cobb who is clearly interfered with, but there's no call. While not absolutely perfect, the pass was clearly catchable id Cobb wasn't hit before it arrived. For a pass made fully on the run, you can't expect much more. Love gets a B+ on this one.

Summary - For Love's first real action of the season, it was a short, but very good performance. The thing I liked the most was the confidence he showed out there, with no signs of nervousness or self-doubt. He set up nicely, felt pressure at the right time and got away, surveyed the field while on the run and threw some nice passes. It's definitely something positive for him to build on
