Packers Question of the day - Any Concern with Rodgers?

Aaron Rodgers tweaked his calf once more on just the third play of the game on Sunday. It was in the process of escaping the pocket and slinging a 66-yard touchdown on the run to Davante Adams.

It goes along with the nagging hamstring injury that has been bothering him for several weeks now. But is it a cause for concern?

Rodgers, for the most part, has been just as dominant from the pocket as he has been when he scrambles from it. Would keeping Rodgers in one place and having him get into the habit of scanning through his progressions be something that actually uplifts the Packers' offense?

Always concerned about the health of the teams most important player.

The way I see it, it isn't the same as 2014, and if conventional wisdom serves me right, his injuries should be close to non-factor when the playoffs start. His calf in '14 was a partial tear, not a pulled or bruised calf. His Hamstring, and his calf this time should heal much more quickly, in fact, his hamstring should almost be back to full health by now.

Change the play-calling for now, but Aaron will be fine, as long as he doesn't push himself too far and re-injure himself.

It's like people would rather something bad happen than see someone they despise (for whatever reason) be right about something. They would rather see Rodgers never run or scramble again and play hurt for the rest of his career than see him recover like I said he would.

You must have your own TV show. -- Call it "Doctor Chad". -- The Packer's own medical staff, MM or even AR couldn't make the same call you're making. --- Guess what? -- No one knows, especially at this time.

I said CONVENTIONAL WISDOM! Never claimed to be doctor or that what I knew what for certain what was going to happen! Usually when a hamstring happens, that player is ok after about 2-3 weeks, like Clay Matthews earlier this year. That's what USUALLY happens!

Maybe you should learn to read, and just have some fun when engaging in sports talk. Christ, some people really can be a pest.

This is real football -- not fantasy football.
Watching your TV and then making player health proclamations is folly.

Chad we were 12-4 in 2014

Chad- we are in a 1 week playoff every week for the next 3 weeks. And if the gods help us with DET & MINN losses, we can MAYBE make the playoffs. 1 loss & we are done.

The coaches and fans should be concerned with both calf and hamstring injuries to the same leg.

Most of us have had similar injuries during our involvement with sports and they hurt and they hamper mobility.

For a quarterback, quick push-offs while avoiding pass rushers will be affected and any attempts to run with the ball will be dramatically affected.

Finally, the last thing we want is for Rodgers to exacerbate the injuries to the point where he is unable to play.

Very worried, but he's played through leg injuries at a high level before. He's like the Black Knight...merely a flesh wound. He could be missing all limbs and still bite your legs off.

I mentioned that Hundley could be more valuable as trade bait with the Packers bringing Callahan back asap when able. I said the only way he is of value on the roster is if Rodgers is out for a duration of significant time. I hope that doesn't need to become reality, as for all of what this team is attempting and at the moment, being successful, it would be a tragic end if it was lost via the play of Hundley due to injury of Rodgers. Not dismissing the lower value that would be placed on Hundley, whom some hold high,if he chokes it up game one to either make the playoffs or in the playoffs, which of coarse I hope doesn't come to fruition...Hundley having to play that is.
The Bears would love to be the spoiler and perhaps get Rodgers again, collarr bone, not intentionally of coarse, but they'll be coming after him.

Rodgers will be fine if he plays from the pocket and continues to receive the excellent protection that he has been receiving from the OL. If the run game can continue to be effective that will help slow down opposing pass rushers and help Rodgers even further. No matter what happens we are going to need Rodgers mobility at some point. He not only throws well on the run he can keep drives alive by running for first downs. I guess we can't load him up on Vicodin like they did with Brett Favre back in the '90s. Thanks, Since '61

Of course this is a concern. -- AR's ability to move around is a huge part of his game. MM needs to adjust his play calling accordingly. -- The rest of the season.

I am more concerned with this injury then past injuries. This time its a calf injury to his right leg. The one he pushes off of. His previous leg injuries have been to his left left.

This one could limit him more.

My only worry is that he'll get healthy and start running around doing too much to extend plays instead of getting the damn ball out quickly like he has been, and the offense will go back into it's funk. Just kidding. Kind of.

Cold weather, and quick moves are a huge concern. Just hoping it is not as bad as it looked when he hopped off the field.

Exactly TB.....Obviously it was solely because of the injury but I can't remember a time he came out that early. Aikman and Buck talked about how long it took Rodgers to get to the opposite ends of the field at the end of the quarter, and he WAS moving slow.
The team that scares me is Minnesota with their Double A gap Blitz. Rodgers has some trouble with it and there's nothing worse than pressure up the middle. With Griffith and Hunter for example coming off the edges and God knows who up the middle, the OL will have to play a great, great, game. I just hope Lang stays healthy.

I'm worried about his mobility for the Minny game. They have a good pass rush and they're borderline dirty, not in the same class as the Seachickens but they will go for the killshot once in a while.

Well I'm more concerned for our injuries at OLB, MLB, and TE. There are enough concerns on the Packers that Rodgers calf comes in at last place. Besides..he can play on one leg. He proved it in 2014!
