Packers Don't Sign Blake Sims

The Alabama quarterback leaves Green Bay without a contract.

From Wes Hod over at the Green Bay Press Gazette:

Blake Sims is leaving Green Bay without a contract.

Sims' agent, Kyle Strongin, confirmed Sunday evening that the Packers have decided against signing the former Alabama quarterback at this time after he participated in the team's rookie orientation camp this past weekend on a tryout basis.

It's possible Green Bay could bring the 5-foot-11, 218-pound speedster back in the future, but as of now, he's scheduled to try out at Washington's rookie camp next weekend at running back.

With a quarterback depth chart consisting of Aaron Rodgers, Scott Tolzien, Brett Hundley and Matt Blanchard, it was going to be hard for Sims to crack into the QB lineup.

As Wes states, there's always a possibilty Sims will be back, but I tend to doubt a move gets made in that regard unless there's an injury of some kind to one of the four quarterbacks currently on the roster.
