On Tuesday evening, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took part in his annual charity fundraiser in Milwaukee for the MACC Fund looking to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight childhood cancer. Among the highlights from the speaking engagement was the current Packers quarterback sharing the stage with legendary quarterback Bart Starr. "I do have a new role model, and that's Bart Starr," Rodgers is quoted as saying by Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Also joining the players with Packers ties were golfer Andy North and former Bucks player Jon McGlocklin. Together they made a memorable evening for worthy charity endeavor, something that's becoming part of the legacy of Aaron Rodgers.

The annual Packers Tailgate Tour got underway Tuesday, and as the bus was getting ready to leave Green Bay, team president Mark Murphy made headlines when he mentioned a former Packers quarterback Brett Favre. When asked about the questions he's sure to receive about Brett Favre while on the tour, Murphy responded, "I think each year it’s lessened a little bit. My first year was 2008, so we actually thought we might see Brett along the tour. I envision someday he’ll be on this with us.” Until the Packers retire Brett Favre's number, Favre will remain a topic of conversation amongst Packers fans. I get the feeling plans will be set in motion to get this done sooner rather than later. It might not happen in time for the 2013 season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen by 2014.

The player with the highest profile on this year's Tailgate Tour is probably Randall Cobb, so it wasn't surprising to see so many media outlets publishing articles on the up-and-coming Packers wide receiver yesterday. “I really don’t think I’ve peaked yet," Cobb is quoted as saying by Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com. "I’m 22 years old. I’ve got a lot of learning still to do. I have a long way to go and I just hope I continue to get better over the next years." At 22, there are plenty of rookies in the NFL that are older than Cobb who is now entering his third season in the NFL. It's scary to think about what he can accomplish if he just continues to improve.

Running back Alex Green also gained some attention on the Tailgate Tour, but he publicity he received was more about the new running backs the Packers drafted than Green himself. “I thought it was great. Best for the team,” Green is quoted as saying by Wes Hodkiewicz of the Press-Gazette. “Last year, I didn’t do anything too good in the running game, so I think it was a great thing for us to get back out there, make a step in the draft and help the team win football games.” Green is trying to make the best of a tough and awkward situation. If he has any hopes of making the 53-man roster, he has to start by showing he's fully recovered from an ACL tear that appeared to affect him for most of last season.
