Packers Calendar: Final Practice Before Pads Come On, 5K Run
Practice takes place at 8:20 a.m. CT on Saturday in Green Bay, while the team's fourth annual 5K Run/Walk occurs at 6:30 p.m.
The Green Bay Packers have their second day of training camp practice in 2013 on Saturday, and it's the last day before the hitting starts and the pads come on.
Action gets underway at 8:20 a.m. CT at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay. Temperatures will be unseasonably cool with a high of 64 degrees and only a 20 percent chance of rain.
Yesterday, head coach Mike McCarthy made a "tomorrow" reference in regards to injured offensive lineman Derek Sherrod and waiting to get a report from team trainers on him, but whether he can return to action remains to be seen.
After practice, head coach Mike McCarthy will hold a press conference to be streamed live at the team's official website at Packers.com.
During the evening, the Packers will host their fourth annual Packers 5K Run/Walk, which starts in front of the stadium atrium, winds through the streets of Green Bay, includes a lap around the rubberized track inside Lambeau Field and finishes on a replica 50-yard line constructed in the parking lot.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet Packers alumni Tony Fisher, Bill Schroeder and Dexter McNabb who will be taking part in the event.
Packet pickup takes place at Lambeau Field from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with the race getting underway at 6:30 p.m. Registration is closed.
