Quentin Johnston is indeed a young player with much left to learn being only 21 years old.

His physical gifts, immense. His routes & hands can indeed improve, along with his contested catch production and there’s room for improvement there just like there was with Davante Adams, who took 3 seasons to realize his true potential.

I agree he could positively affect this Packers offense with his high floor, and fans holding to realistic, tempered expectations early.

Busy potential cannot be denied, but that holds true with every single 1st Round WR taken over a span of decades.

Agility, hands, route running, yes, all are legitimate concerns. Those are more likely developmental issues the Packers would have to consider should they decide to take him. They all can be worked on in his development and improved upon.

Agree, he’s optimally a high R2 pick, but the Packers stand little chance of taking him late R1, especially past the Vikings pick. MIN would love to pair him with Justin Jefferson.

Just don’t see him getting to R2.

There’s a very good chance he helps this Packers offense as a rookie added to Watson & Doubs, even if that’s only marginally.

Might be useful in this respect to remember Bo Melton’s addition to the WR corp. Melton is that pure slot WR, one with a lot of experience working outside at a high level.

I mention this in considering Johnston’s possible impact upon our overall WR depth.

All of us have to be somewhat guarded where Watson’s regular availability is concerned as an equally versatile X WR.

Quentin Johnston, as a rookie, still makes a nice security blanket fit as a potential addition in this next draft.

Not a huge need, but definitely a possibility, one who could provide an immediate positive impact, to degrees unknown.

Welcome to the world of seriously considering drafting a WR R1. I’d be just as happy if Gutekunst picked WR Jordan Addison. Maybe happier.

Jaxon Smith Njigba? Same, as I’d trust Gutekunst here with such an important pick to have put the work in to be sure.

Quentin would look very good on the field next to Doubs, and Watson. Skilled weapons putting fear in a defense, as would Dalton Kincaid. It isn't necessarily whether one WR is better than another but which one fits the best making everyone else more effective!

My opinion, but a player like Johnston is the perfect blend to enhance the recipe just like Kincaid at TE.

Quenton Johnston is a really good college WR. He has his flaws as all prospects do. There is no way in hell we should draft him, or anyone for that matter, @ #15. One of the real positives for the Packers is they need WR help and this draft is crazy strong @ the WR position. And although really good, Johnston is not head and shoulders above about 10 other WR we could pick in the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th rounds. In fact WR with the same or even better measurements are in this draft.

If you exclude the smaller high rated WRs, we still have plenty of choices in rounds 2, 3, and 4 to pick the type of WR Green Bay likes. Why waste our first pick when we can get the same type and talent at WR as Johnston with a later pick. Available Johnston clones that catch better in MIngo, Perry, Hutchinson, Higgins, Iosivas, Rice, Palmer, Landers, Ford-Wheaton, Wicks, Demus, Nacua, Elijah Higgins. With a later pick so we can fill a real NEED with our first pick. This is a great draft to need and pick 2 really good WR for Green Bay after round 1.

Our first pick needs to be a player at the position that we need the most and will help us improve the most. While I agree another good WR will help make Green Bay better, it won't be as impactful as getting us one for sure TE weapon. We need one early and at least another later. Our offense is nonexistent @ TE right now and getting us 2 difference makers at the position is imperative. For Love to be successful too.

I will also argue the second position that we absolutely need a high pick at is Edge. With Gary not for sure to start the season, we need a starting caliber Edge with our 2nd pick. Luckily for us, Edge is also a super strong position group in this draft. one early and one later. Not with #15 though, trade back for more early picks.

Current Jets WR Denzel Mims is available for just the asking in this trade of Rodgers. He was a better WR coming out of college than Johnston is this year. He is just as big @ 6'3 215 lbs. and faster than Johnston running 4.3 in the combine. Mims had twice as many TDs in senior year. He is available and would give Green Bay the same type WR as Johnston without wasting our extremely valuable first pick. He has experience playing in the NFL although limited, a better cheaper, option. Mims is Quenton Johnston without wasting a high pick. Seems like an easy way to fill a hole @ WR to me.

This is such a big draft for Green Bay. Regardless of what we get back in Rodgers trade in picks, we would be be really smart to try to trade back @ #15 for more early picks. Maybe twice if we can stay in very early 2nd round. We could really fill the holes @ the positions that we need the most between the start of round 2 and the middle of round 4. Avoiding picking a WR, although still a need, with our first pick is imperative. We can fill that need later, still getting just as good of WR, in the draft and by taking Mims from the Jets. Mission accomplished, 2 of the holes are filled and we still have at least 9 picks left.
