It's Super Bowl or Bust more than ever before in Titletown

The Packers have never operated in the manner we're witnessing and more than ever before it's Super Bowl or Bust in Titletown.

Burks to the niners , Alex Singleton is a free agent from philly , great special teams player Packers could probably get him at a reasonable price.

Well, I for one I think it's *great* you're already on top of how best to fill the enormous hole left by the departure of Oren Burks, Lp, but it's never a good idea to call out your perceived enemies on message boards. It could drastically harm your quest for fake internet points.

Hey Leotis,

Well, if I can't redeem my internet points for say, a slick mini Packer helmet that holds my libation of choice...screw it! Lp, if I knew more about the guy I would reply with my opinion to you but will defer since I don't...thanks for sharing your opinion. And, I treat my internet points like a golf score - the lower, the better! I have played 18 holes with a negative score, I am that good!

Thank heaven they finally got rid of Burks, whose claim to fame seem to be that he is an average player on the crappiest special teams in the league. Shades of Jarrett Bush.

I just hope some team grabs Kevin King before Gute signs him up again for another “prove it” deal.

At 130 tkls last season, Singleton will probably get a low starters contract even if he is already 28.

Living in Calgary - I remember Singleton when he was the best defensive player in the CFL. He is absolutely an upgrade over Burks.

Anyone remember Hadl trade? Era of Packers desperation.

This makes me more convinced Packers should have traded Rodgers and Adams.

SB or it will be remembered as the year we willingly drove off the cliff.

It reminds me of buying a multi million $ home in 2006 on paper, knowing you cannot afford it, but a subprime mortgage temps you, expecting everything will be peachy.

Then a few years later you leave your keys on the kitchen table and walk away, in deep financial trouble.

More like a 7/23 balloon mortgage. You get to live in a nice house for a few years, but you're not building any equity. Then the balloon payments come due.

- I do try to be fair. - I just realize Adams is going to put us in Cap hell. Somebody has to go against the buddy system. My point is that Z. Smith could come back.( If there was cap room.) If you could see him getting 9 sacks. You saw why I made that comment.

Absolutely, the Z part. However, Adams will be a top 5 WR for at least two more years and probably very solid for one more.

I am not a fan of this extension for Rodgers and would hope I wouldn't have painted myself in this corner in the first place. But, we are dealing with variables that are out of mostly anyone's control (injuries, better play, decline in play, player development, etc...)

Thanks for the therapeuticness of this forum...

Question: did beautiful mystery turn to ugly future?

Question: when Rodgers exclaimed "I still own you!"... was he referring to da Bears or Packer management?

Crazy how things have changed. I was very proud of Rodgers during the Favre indecisions towards the end of his Packer's tenure. This strategy with going all in with Rodgers isn't for me. I don't think he is all in with the Pack.

This is going to come across as very negative, but I'm just not seeing a Super Bowl winning team here.
What I see is:

A team that is loads of fun to watch in the regular season, only to get out coached and out played in the playoffs...once again.

In MLF, a nice, young likeable guy who is an OC masquerading as a HC. LH, please spare us his regular season record, how about his 2-3 playoff record?

In AR, a QB who continues to pile up HOF caliber stats during the regular season, only to crap out in the playoffs...once again.

In a FO that has inexplicably kowtowed to a player to the detriment of the team.

The one silver lining I see is a potential top 5 defense emerging. Will that be enough to overcome the above? Hope springs eternal.

The Great Sean McVay and the Mighty Rams were 3-2 in the playoffs prior to this season, and they missed the playoffs completely one year, so yeah, clearly LaFleur and the Packers have no hope.

Assuming that was a legit question and not just a manifestation of your obsession with me.

Remind me again when the "Great Sean McVay"...your words not mine...had home field advantage throughout 2 years in a row, with a HOF QB no less, and crapped out both times. And hasn't he made it to two Super Bowls to date, with two different QBs? Really, that's the comparison you want to go with?

I get it, you're a big fan of regular season wins while playing in a crappy division. At least McVay was competing in a very competitive division.

Maybe a more apropos comparison would be Belichick benefiting from playing in the crappy AFC East division. Care to go there?

Hey, at least you decided to post a disagreement with me without your usual petty name calling. I'm mildly impressed.

Not one serious rebuttal to anything I posted. You're the one who came up with the Sean McVay/LA Rams comparison, not me.

That's cool...about what I expected from disagreeing with an unabashed homer that can't deal with constructive criticism.

The only concern I have is as of this minute, we have two weapons: Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.

I know we have Allen Lazard, but I'm not sure I would consider him a "weapon."

Anyone who calls Deguara and Amari Rodgers weapons are kidding themselves. (At least right now.)

We need Adams back in the fold and we need to draft at least one WR NLT the 2nd round. Probably another WR in the 4th round.

Hoping Gutey and Company have a plan to bring in some pass catchers for sure.

Didn't leave you a dislike. But the problem per Adams: is a 30 mil a year "guaranteed" contract for 3 yrs. Is Adams worth 3 players we need to win? Not to mention more cap hell. ( Yes Gary needs an extension.) If Gute takes a WR first. Say Burks. The next two players could be LB or edge. If he takes a edge// No Top 5 DL. /// If he takes a DL to replace Lowrey next year. He can get a WR that won't start. If he takes WR. WR. The rest will be depth. Chaulk just signed with the Lions.

Stockholder, you won’t see Adams get a 30M year, especially all 3 years guaranteed. The market was set around 23-25M per by Hopkins.

Here is some recent info on the Pack's compensatory draft picks:

The NFL announced the full list of compensatory picks on Tuesday, and the Packers received one in the fourth round and another in the seventh round.

The fourth-round pick is No. 140 overall; the seventh-rounder is No. 258.

The Packers were given the picks for losing center Corey Linsley (Los Angeles Chargers) and running back Jamaal Williams (Detroit Lions) during unrestricted free agency last offseason.

With two additional picks, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst will now have nine in the 2022 draft

This contract extension is like getting kicked in the marbles and then when you finally catch your breath...you are expected to say thank you, may I have another?

Okay, my goal tonight is to put on some Yanni, light a few candles, sip a wee of scotch, journal, scrapbook, put mud on my face with a couple cucumber slices on the eyelids and mediate. I will try my best to solve most of Wisconsin's troubles and come at it with a more positive approach and renewed strength/hope tomorrow or later. God has given me a highly acute sense when it comes to the NFL. I will share it without charge, just need a little of your time...whose in? (in my mind I see you all raising your hands with such pizzazz you all may end up tearing your rotator cuff......)

Looks like a couple of years until it's all rookies to 3rd year players and UDFA because of the cap. Pretty much guaranteed rough years unless they get real lucky in the draft or a new TV deal opens the cap more.

“It’s Super Bowl or bust more than ever before in Titletown.”

Really!!!??? Anyone remember the Lombardi era? The difference is that Lombardi’s team made it to 6 NFL Championship games, won 5 in 7 years, including 3 in a row and the first 2 Super Bowls.

Sounds to me like we were much more Super Bowl than bust back then. More recently we’re mostly just Bust before we get near the SB.

Maybe 2022 will be different. Actually it already is! Oren Burks is gone so that could be addition by subtraction right there. Thanks, Since ‘61

This Davante demand is ridiculous sorry boss but your not even the best wide receiver we have had in the last 30 years Davante could not hold Sterling Sharpe's jock strap. Funny thing when Sharpe had to retire Favre became better he wasn't Sterling Dependent and had to use all his weapons. They made the nfc championship game the year after Sharpe retired and the following year superbowl champs and the following year lost the superbowl. I was a kid back then 17 -20, but Favre definitely reached new heights even without the great Sterling Sharpe who Davante is not even close to.

I for one think Davante should be traded asap if he want 28 or 30 million a year that's nuts even for this team but I'm sure some team will do it. if King Rodgers wants to pout and scream because of this then give Rodgers the option of voiding his new extension and go back to his original deal and if he wants to be traded great find a partner will be easy or he can play his year out and become a free agent .He wanted the money which is fine but so does Davante which is fine but you can't pay everyone . Would rather see Love get a chance than become the clown show that this franchise is becoming.
