Erik Walden Will Practice Today

Outside linebacker Erik Walden said he will practice for the Green Bay Packers today after sitting out all last week.

DALLAS – Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden said he would practice today after sitting out all last week with a sprained ankle suffered during the NFC Championship win over the Chicago Bears.

"I'm going to give it a go," said Walden, "move around, just see what I'm able to do and what I'm not.

"I'm feeling a whole lot better. I can't say enough about our training staff doing a great job, setting me up in a position to even give it a go today, so I'm excited about that"

Walden was listed as questionable for the Super Bowl last week, although injury reports will be updated later today, and it's possible his status could change.

The NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 17 against Chicago was confident he will be able to play in Super Bowl XLV against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

"My chances are high," said Walden. "I'm going to make sure I'm able able to go full speed and able to protect myself, because you don't want to be out there an be in a vulnerable position and be exposed.

"I've been doing everything I can to get close to 100%, so today I'm going to give it a try and see how it feels."

Walden started five games for the Packers this season, including playoffs, since being acquired mid-year and has accumulated four sacks.

Man, would be pretty nice if both Walden and Zombo are active and able to play Sunday.

Totally agree!

Walden on long downs and Zombo on short ones would be excellent.

GO PACK!

This is a good sign. Almost everyone at full strength! Walden has been a great fill in at OLB. We could use him to take down Ben

How many of us thought, two months ago, that we'd be crossing our fingers hoping Erik Walden would be able to start for us in the Super Bowl? What a crazy ride this year has been.

I did. I also have correctly picked the last 40 super bowls and 100 World Series. ;)

Did an old, somewhat familiar looking dude whom you've never met before hand you a Sports Almanac with future events in it. And if so, did he warn you that one day a kid or a scientist would come looking for said almanac? Just wondering, because I too have guessed those same events correctly and that's just what happened to me is all.

And to think you picked over 80 world series without access to the internet!

To think you missed the first 4 Super Bowls though (I could see missing III, but I, II and IV?).

I like Walden covering Heath Miller alot better than Zombo. Last night I dreamed that Heath Miller was a serial killer.

I'd love to see Walden kinda shadow Ben like he did with great success to Cuntler week 17. Can't let Ben be picking up 1st downs with his legs.

i really hope Waldon can play. he and Bishop bring the "big stick" that the pack D needs to intimidate. did anyone see the soundFX where walden crushed cutler and then got up and looked at the bears bench and was said, "i am not bullshitting today!!!"? gets me fired up just thinking about it. we need his speed and ability to bring the wood when he gets to the ball carrier.

white house (not stealing from u fitz, just like the sound of that)
