Eric Stokes "on track" for training camp

The third year cornerback is coming back from ankle and knee injuries suffered during last year's loss in Detroit.

Brian Gutekunst gave us all an update on Rashan Gary's progress as he works to return from the knee injury suffered in Detroit last season (all signs are positive and Rashan is apparently ahead of schedule) but one name we didn't get an update on when the GM met with the local beat earlier this week was cornerback Eric Stokes, who suffered season ending ankle and knee injuries in the same game.

Bill Huber brings news that Stokes is progressing well and could be ready to go for the start of training camp.

Cornerback Eric Stokes, whose big-time rookie season was followed by a sophomore slump and a season-ending ankle injury in that same game at Detroit, is on track to practice at the start of training camp, according to sources.

“Eric has had zero setbacks and is ahead of schedule,” a source said. “He plans to be in Green Bay for the offseason program to continue his rehab and training. There is no set timetable for him to be back at 100 percent, but he is not expected to miss any portion of camp.”

This is an encouraging development for a Packers secondary that will need Stokes to utilize every practice rep he can to get back to the form that flashed so much promise his rookie year.

That game in Detroit was a true disaster. We lost Gary and Stokes for the year and also Doubs got hurt early and was out for a number of games. Not to mention what a terrible game AR had as well.

WHo cares the guy is worthless and another Gutt mistake big mistake.
Stokes avoids contact at all costs, he is slow of mind and can easily be beat even though he is 6'3 and has speed his slow mind and unwillingness to vie for the ball negates all that.

Fubared is one of our regular Viking Trolls, especially during the regular season. I guess now he's even got less going on in his life and is commenting year around. IGNORE him, I do PC500... He knows absolutely nothing about the Packers and even less about football.
