Eddie Lacy, Alonzo Harris Missed Curfew Wednesday Night

So now we know what was up with Eddie Lacy sitting out for a majority of the game Thursday night. ESPN's Rob Demovsky reported last evening that Lacy and Harris did not make it back to the team hotel by the 9:00 curfew.

Best reaction to this news was from our own Aaron Nagler, who tweeted:

priceless...

I hope this is just a small infraction and he can move on. Man this team has to get it together, I mean what is going on this year.

I love Aaron's response! Anybody know how late he was in getting back to the hotel? Did he stay out all night? If that was the case I'm surprised he dressed at all.

I think the only reason he let him suit up was , in case Starks went down or Crockett was a flop. Now it seems we may have 3 good backs. Crockett was really hyped up, great to see.

I really enjoyed seeing him spring back up and slap a teammate on the helmet after a run. I hope he can bring that energy for the rest of the season. If not, at least I hope it's contagious.

Johnny "Rocket" Crockett indeed was a major spark...all roads led to the turnaround with this guys enthusiasm.... more good stuff to come from this guy! Can't wait to see what he does in the Dallas game.

They say he just about botched the hand off from Rodgers...but as I saw it the hand off was a little high and on the shoulder pads..it is the QBs job to get that ball where it was suppose to be...I think Rodgers was shocked on how fast this guy is...it was good reflects that he was able to even handle that hand off.
GO PACK!

Moral to this story, if you're expendable, don't screw up. Eddie must be paying out some pretty big fines. overweight and late. Coach we just stopped at McDonalds for a few 1/4 pounders.

And the personal attacks just keep on coming. If you knew anything about Eddie (or knew anything at all) you would know "not caring" is not in his make up.

Did you ever post your height and body weight?

Cow is a troll and no Packer fan. No matter how pessemistic any fan can be, he/she can find something good about their team. He bashes everything from the announcers to the trainers. Going to a site like this one and bashing everything, having nothing positive proves his trollism.

Could not agree more. The real issue its in his head and heart. Getting so over weight he comes to camp and can't play isn't about eating anymore, its about not wanting to be there. Coming in after curfew confirms he no longer cares. Worse, not hearing him complain about no playing seals the deal. Too bad, its the fans who lose.

I wonder if Alonzo was a bad influence on Lacy. If there was something going on that we haven't heard about.
Apparently they have no intention of resigning Harris to the PS or anything. I can't believe they would cut him and have no interest in signing him to the PS over missing a curfew.

9:00 PM curfew - yikes. Seems a bit juvenile given that the game is 8 the next night BUT rules are rules. Maybe Lacy thinks that he is in college and he is still king of the campus either way he has not been impressive for most of the season. What bothered me the most was his attitude and body language on his few carries in this game. Getting stuffed is disappointing but hanging your head and moping is just childish.

Kudos to the coaching staff to take action and get Crockett into the game.

I've always wondered about Eddie's commitment to the professional game. By his own admission, he doesn't watch football much and, reading between the lines, he doesn't enjoy it much either. Perhaps his professional career path was a way to get the home for his family and a little money in the bank to cushion him and them for the future. If that's the case, I have no problem with him. He's accomplished that goal. BUT, in my opinion, to be a highly successful pro player, you have to have some modicum of love for the game. You need to be dedicated in the offseason Prime example is Favre. He loves the game, wouldn't have wanted to do anything other than play. We see that trait in all players that have great success. And in Eddie's case, IF (big word) he's not all in, it's best we have someone waiting in the wings, like Crockett, who really wants to be on the team day in and day out.
Now, IF (there's that word again), Eddie is just exhibiting a lack of maturity and focus, I trust our staff to get him back on track and we'll see a rededication from him next season.
Bottom line, it's best the Packers find out now where Eddie's head is before the huge payday and long contract constrains them for years.

I agree with your assessment. I think that Lacy has bought into the fame of professional football but perhaps not the professional side of the equation. When you see a guy like Peppers you see a pro. When I look at Eddie is see immaturity. He could have been the guy to step up and carry the team through these difficult times instead of just another guy on the payroll.

But, Eddie did just that when Rodgers was hurt. On a bad ankle to boot.

MissKathy -Some very astute observations. Refreshing to see someone who has read up on Eddie posting intelligent content. However, I wouldn't necessarily connect Eddie's low key personality and not watching football with a lack of dedication.

Honestly, I think some people have heard that Eddie likes video games and equate that to his being a fat nerd. I'd like to see those people get trucked by Eddie one time.

Fat Boy better get with the program. Even at the relatively early hour of 9 pm, people don't normally miss curfew because they were hanging out at the petting zoo.

To me it says a lot more than just coming in late. He showed up grossly over weight at the beginning of the season, stayed over weight to the point his ankles can't handle the weight, then this.

Sounds to me like someone who wants out of Green Bay. Maybe his heart is elsewhere but it ain't with the fans or the team. We've all seen pictures of him on the sidelines joking around like not playing is no big deal.

Sadly he was a 2 pick. May end up being a wasted one in the end.

Waiting for the source on that showing up grossly overweight statement.

Waiting on the citation to the medical report stating overweight caused the ankle issue.

I read an aricle on PackersNews recently that an NFL source said Lacy is at least 20 lbs over his listed weight of 234. He is clearly way overweight right now. He better show up in training camp at 235 next year or I'll be done w/ him.

In a way it reminds me of a guy I knew in the Navy. Had a calendar and each day got it out and crossed off another day he was closer to getting out.
I finally had it. Sat him down and told him the rest of us are tired of his attitude and his bitching. Told him, he enlisted. It was his choice. Honor your commitment, do you job, shut up and when the last day comes, go. But man up and understand you put yourself in this. Blame yourself not the Navy.

Back in the 1960's, all of my unit had fabric 100 centimeter tape measures. Each day we cut one centimeter off. We all wanted out. We served our country, did our job but we weren't lifers.

Toady its an all volunteer military so I see your point,

Anyway, I like Lacy and I think he can be a good player if he gets his head straight. Alonzo Harris was a bad influence. That item is on many websites and blogs so I give it a lot of credence.

Crockett seems far more motivated and I believe Starks gives 100% also. Lacy sitting on the bench for the rest of the year may do him some good.

Morgan was most likely the Neidermeyer of his unit (second Animal House reference in a week, sorry). Amazing he got off the boat without his fellow sailors drowning him.

That's if he really served, which I highly doubt.

You know what's crazy?

The Packers lead the NFC North, and only 5 teams in the entire league have a better record than the Packers.

Also, they are two games up on anyone for the top Wildcard spot in the conference should things in the NFC N turn out badly.

THat's good news for a team that is playing its worst football of the last decade.
