Donald Driver Adds To Great Legacy Of Packers Receivers

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame this summer.  Driver is also embarking on a three-day tour to thank fans for their years of loyalty and friendship.

Driver is the team's all-time leading receiver and gave the team 13 seasons of max effort and smiles.  Fans and companies will surely look to participate in Driver's endeavor and thank him for his years of service and entertainment as well.

Driver left behind a great legacy both with his achievements on the field but with the odds that he overcame in his personal life.  He was a seventh round pick by the Packers in 1999 and the team would be ever so lucky to find another prospect of his caliber that late in the draft.

With the NFL draft just two weeks away, the Packers are surely thinking about the wide receiver position and the fact that they'll soon need to replace Jordy Nelson and possibly Randall Cobb.  Receiver has been a cornerstone position for the Packers over the last two decades with Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre and soon-to-be Hall of Fame quarterback under center.  With top contributors such as Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, Driver, Greg Jennings and Nelson, any incoming prospect surely has a lot to live up to.

Donald Driver... From SB Champion to Dancing With The Stars Champion! I can still see him streaking down the sideline in the 2007 NFCCG for 90 yards and a TD.

I loved him as a GBP but didn't appreciate the shots he took at Rodgers. When Jennings left the Packers Driver was quick to side with Jennings comments about Rodgers "leadership qualities".

You can't say he wasn't one of the best WR the Packers have had though. Small school, 4 years to produce but by year 4 he was pure gold.

Totally agree, the shots at AR were completely uncalled for. However, that doesn't distract from my overall fondness of DD and appreciation of his play and life story.

On a personal level Donald Driver may be one of the finest human beings to play for the Packers. The Thank You Tour is not surprising because he has always understood that the fans are the reason for all of this. No Packer I know of has given more of his personal time than DD. As far as the Rodgers comments go, I thought he was pretty restrained. And after all of the years, after playing with two HOF QBs, if he has an opinion, he is entitled to it.

I think everyone has said things they wish they could take back. DD was a great player and a credit to the Packer organization.

I remember first learning about DD when he was in his first training camp. The Milwaukee Journal had a series every year where they'd have one player in camp write about there experiences in a sort of weekly "diary" and that year it was Driver! I was rooting for him to make the team; obviously not knowing how far his career would go. Always loved the million watt smile. :)
