Despite Win, Packers Still Super Bowl Underdogs

Despite beating the Dallas Cowboys 26-21 in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday, the odds of the Green Bay Packers winning the Super Bowl are behind two other teams, according to online oddsmaker Bovada.lv.

The Packers have been listed at 11-2 odds to win the Lombardi Trophy, behind the Seattle Seahawks (5-4) and New England Patriots (9-5). Only the Indianapolis Colts have longer odds to win the Super Bowl (7-1).

Currently, the Packers are 7.5 underdogs to win the NFC Championship against the Seahawks in Seattle.

The Packers are not among the favorites among the most likely Super Bowl match-up:

  • New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks 10/13
  • New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers 4/1
  • Indianapolis Colts vs Seattle Seahawks 13/4
  • Indianapolis Colts vs Green Bay Packers 9/1

Neither are the Packers among the favorites for the most likely Super Bowl result:

  • Seattle beats New England 7/4
  • Seattle beats Indianapolis 5/1
  • New England beats Seattle 5/2
  • New England beats Green Bay 6/1
  • Green Bay beats New England 15/2
  • Green Bay beat Indianapolis 12/1
  • Indianapolis beats Seattle 9/1
  • Indianapolis beats Green Bay 16/1

If the Packers were to play the Patriots in the Super Bowl, they would be 2.5-point underdogs despite beating the Pats in the regular season.

Although if the Packers were to play the Colts in the Super Bowl, they'd be three-point favorites.

Right now, Anyone could pick Seattle & New England for the Super Bowl. Green Bay & Indy is a Real possibility. I'd like to see that game. I'm almost tempted to take the 12-1, if I can get it. I'm not in Vegas right now. I don't want to be a 2 1/2 Pt Underdog to Brady. I don't like the 7 - 7 1/2 Pt line on the Seattle game. I'd like to see that line come down. LVT

No one is giving the best player in football a chance this Sunday.

That alone is enough to make him come out dealing vs. Seattle.

Just got done reading a blog from NBC Sports. Seattle fans are really talking SMACK!! I like Russell Wilson, but I wish Pete Carrol would Choke on that F#@kin' chewing gum of his. I personally don't like the line, but everyone seems to be on the Seattle side on this one. I hope GB shows up Big. Forecast is for rain. I don't believe their Defense will stop us. Our Defense needs to stop them. Easier said than done, but if we limit Lynch & Wilson, No Question in my mind We Win. Strong up the Middle, & Contain. NEW YORK BOZO every time inside the 20. LVT

For my Dad's 60th birthday, I'm trying to get him to Lambeau Field in September to see his first ever Packer's game. He's been a lifelong fan, and any donation would be greatly appreciated. Go Packers! gofundme.com/k5rupo
