Kevin King and Quinten Rollins were part of first-team defense today. They replaced LaDarius Gunter and Damarious Randall. #Packers

Dix baiting Rodgers sounds interesting. It would be great if he was able to get even better back there...

Clinton-Dix getting better, to go along with a better Brice, and they hybrid ability's of Burnett/Jones. I really love that position.

I believe Lowry and Brice were with the one's yesterday too. Appears they figure prominently in GB's plans this year.

I am concerned with the cornerbacks. Goodson is on the PUP list and now Waters looks like he has a nagging injury. Waters needs as many reps to make the transition to CB. All it takes is one more injury... And having Gunter as starting edge corner -- yikes! Wait for teams to start scheming around with Gunter in the lineup to force him into covering a really good receiver. Nobody will do that until the season starts. Hope King makes a lot of progress during camp to take over the edge. The one complaint about last year was TT did not sign someone to help once Randall and Rollins got hurt. It just seemed obvious to me after Shields didn't come back after 2-3 weeks, his career was in jeopardy.

It's extremely scary to think we could even consider Gunter being a starter again. But sadly it would only take a couple of injuries, and it would be 2016 all over again. Maybe he'll pull a hamstring - one can only hope. Remove all the drama.

Considering it's only day 2 of Training Camp I highly doubt any positions are being won or lost, especially when they haven't even put on pads yet. But to wish an injury on a player whether it's day 2 or day 22 is just wrong on so many levels. Common Dude...

It appears as though both Allison and Davis are making a year 2 leap. I am saying that knowing that pads don't come on until tomorrows practice. But from hearing about them in the offseason and hearing about them in camp so far it appears they are making a year 2 jump.
Davis also might become our return specialist this year. I will be watching in preseason games how he does returning kicks/punts.

It would be nice to experience some year two jumps rather that year two regressions. Need those if GB is to make a run at the Super Bowl.

Sounds promising in the early going but I'm sure it's the same for every team. Defense is the key IMHO. Time to see a big improvement or we could see the same results as the past few years. I'm optimistic but only time will tell.

Everyone wants to jump allover Gunter. Dude was thrown into the freaking fire last year because of injuries. Cut him some freaking slack. After all the experience he got last year and an off-season you don't know what he's capable of. I'm excited as hell about our CBs this year.

"Excited as hell" is quite a bit farther than I'm willing to go right now ("nervous as hell" would be closer) but I agree that Gunter gets bashed more than he should. I have to think that Gunter figures to be no better than our #4 at CB behind House, King, Randall/Rollins and possibly others. If that's true, then I think Gunter would actually compare pretty favorably to other teams' fourth or fifth CBs. How many teams have a #4 corner who could have stuck with Julio Jones in the NFC championship game? Um... probably none. No one expects their #4 to match up to that kind of a standard.
Of course, none of that would necessarily mean that our 1,2 and 3 compare well to other teams' 1,2 and 3.

Count me as 'reassured' regarding the secondary.
(1) House is a solid veteran pick up
(2) Added King
(3) Of the three third year corners, gotta assume one or two just had a sophomore slump and are ready to bounce back. Playing the averages, it's hard to believe none of the options pan out.
Who knows...2016 might have played out quite differently if Shields had been able to play the entire season. It just takes one or two.
