David Bakhtiari undergoes appendectomy
The veteran left tackle had been rock solid over the last three games. He's now out for Sunday and possibly the season.

The hits just keep on coming.
The Packers announced earlier this afternoon that their All Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari underwent an appendectomy earlier in the day and is Out for Sunday's game in Chicago.
Bakhtiari acknowledged the procedure after the news broke.
What a crazy day. Thought I may have strained my abdomen or something this morning so I brought it up to our team Doctor. Next thing I know, I’m having surgery. Did not expect this. Everything went well. Thank y’all! 🧀 https://t.co/V2Fdn7Jmp8

On the football side of things, I'd expect Zach Tom to get the start at left tackle vs the Bears, though the Packers could slide Elgton Jenkins out to tackle and insert Tom at guard. They could also move Yosh Nijman back to left tackle and play either Tom or Jenkins at right tackle and re-insert Royce Newman back at guard.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Let’s not tempt fate with a ‘Could this season get any worse,’ ok? Glad he’s okay.

Pfft, kids these days! On December 5, 1964 Ray Nitschke used a pair of tape scissors and a shoehorn to remove his appendix in plain view of the crowd at Soldier Field. He didn't miss a snap in the 17-3 win over the Bears *and* made the All Pro Team.

Thats good knowledge!!!
Something that actually DID occur is when Dave "Hog" Hanner had an appendectomy and fearing for losing his job was back in uniform and playing for Head Football Coach Vince Lombardi only a few days after his operation.
BTW, Lombardi DID visit Hanner in the hospital and told him how much the team needed him.
It has been said that Lombardi never felt any of the pain his players experienced...

"Hawg" didn't have the benefit of a laparoscopic procedure back in the dark ages. Tough dude.
"Hawg" was born Joel David Hanner. He picked up the nickname playing college ball at Arkansas. A few years ago, I took the Lambeau Stadium tour with my old college roommate. Our tour guide? Joel Hanner, one of Hawg's boys. Great guy, and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide. He confirmed his dad was indeed country strong.

I hear Matt LaFleur once pulled off a band-aid with one swift motion without the benefit of a local or a tonic *and* he didn't cry.
