Clay Matthews Has Been Ruled Out of Vikings Game, Nick Perry Has Not

When the Green Bay Packers released their Wednesday injury report, outside linebacker Clay Matthews has already been ruled out of this upcoming Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings but fellow outside linebacker Nick Perry had not.

Perry didn't practice on Wednesday, but the Packers wouldn't go as far as declaring he wouldn't play four days before the game.

That's encouraging news at a position where rookies Andy Mulumba and Nate Palmer started in place of Matthews and Perry and Mike Neal continues to deal with the effects of a shoulder injury.

Wide receiver James Jones and tight end Ryan Taylor are in the same boat as Perry. Neither practiced on Wednesday, but neither had been ruled out either.

If Ryan Taylor comes back, that's a game changer....not.

Neither Jones nor Jones nor Perry nor Starks should play. This is the closest thing to a bye week, even (especially?) now that it looks like Ponder will start, not that it really matters. I would like to see Neal play if he's able though, he needs the game reps at his new position. And Hayward, what's his status? Need to get him some game reps too, and shake off the rust.

I just hope Dom learned how to line up and stop pederson and force the Vikes to throw. Seems to be the key to keeping points off the board for them.

More bodies=less snaps=fresh healthy rotation=more production. Linebackers get to fly around and make plays rather an get stuck to blockers. Can't wait! Pack 34 vikes 17

If the Vikes score 17 I'll call that a moral defeat. Packers 34-10.

2 words... Johnny and Jolly! The guy has done exactly what I said he would in the offseason. He's added toughness, physicality and aggressiveness to the D and brought the level of play of everyone else up a couple notches!

The defense wont let them score but I can see Patterson and Sherrels returning a kick and a punt vs Slocums make shift coverage squads....

If we kick any returnable balls in this game we are stupid.

i think we will win but.....vikings d is not that bad,and at some point here, all these inexperienced skill players are not gonna be in the spots where arod wants, and that translates to turnovers. i wouldnt be shocked with 2 if not 3 picks that will in no way be arods fault, with freeman at qb,we'd win by 20 something but ponder might surprise. Pack 20 Queens 16 in an ugly one.

I'm more afraid of Ponder playing with something to prove than any other QB on the Vikings roster, including a Ponder who thinks he has a job locked up. This game just got slightly more interesting. I hope the Packers don't feel as complacent as we do.
