CheeseheadTV Signs Free Agent Writers

Showing Ted Thompson how the Packers' offseason operations should work, CheeseheadTV has gone out and signed some top free agent writers to add to our roster. We're excited to have these new voices bringing you more Packers analysis, commentary and discussion points.

Hopefully we can teach an old dog like Ted Thompson a new trick or two...

A few words from our new writers:

Kevin Mooney -  The joy and toughness with which Brett Favre played football first made me a Packers fan, even as a kid growing up in Atlanta, and I have been a diehard supporter ever since. My appreciation for the team grew over time as I learned about all the things we Packers fans love about our team – the history, tradition and uniqueness of this great franchise. I am currently a history teacher at one of Atlanta’s football factories, Tucker High School. I graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s in History and a Master’s in Education. I first tried my hand at sports writing several years ago through blogging and contributing articles to various websites. Shout out to my wife for supporting both my teaching and writing habits. My goals as a writer with CheeseheadTV are to contribute entertaining and informative content for readers and to have a blast interacting with the greatest fan base in the world! Go Pack Go!

Chris Wanless -   I'm Chris Wanless, an Iowa-born Cheesehead now living in Bloomington, MN and carrying the green and gold flag proudly through the heart of Vikings territory. The only native Iowan in a family of Wisconsinites, I never had a choice in who my favorite team would be, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I've operated a Packers-centric blog of my own for about four years. Before that, I played two years of football at D-II Winona State until I realized I enjoyed talking and writing about the strategic aspect of the game more than actually playing it. I spent the next two seasons as the radio analyst for both Winona State football and my hometown high school, as well as writing for the WSU athletics website. As a follower of CheeseheadTV, I couldn't be more excited to work alongside the other great writers here, and I can't wait to get started. Go Pack.

David Nicholson -  First off, I'm honored at the chance to contribute to Cheesehead TV. I've been following the site and podcasts for a number of years. Before that, I frequented enough Packers forums to know how passionate the fanbase is, and how contentious the discourse can get. The quick skinny on me: I'm a recovering sports reporter (covering the high school beat, which was fantastic) and recently moved into advertising. I can think of no greater way to scratch my sports itch than writing about my favorite team, the Packers. I make a point to consume as much beat coverage on the team, and I'll keep my eyes and ears open to topics the community wants covered. When I'm not at work or typing up something for the site, you can find me at home with my new family. My 5-month-old daughter already has an abundance of Packers gear, and I'm excited to add to the collection. I look forward to interacting with you all. Now ... GO PACK GO!

Chris Peterson - For the past 25 years, I have been a diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers. From the days of Reggie White and Brett Favre, to Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews, I have followed the team fanatically for two decades. I was just six years old when I started watching Packers games with my dad. Now, I watch them every Sunday with my son, my dad and my uncle. It's a tradition. I have been writing about the Packers in one fashion or another since 2011. I'm a sports journalist in Montana. That's my day job -- my passion and hobby is offering my thoughts and analysis about the Packers. My background is in history, I have a degree from the University of Montana, but sports writing is my one true love. While my day job is covering local high school and small college sports, my work on Green Bay has been seen on the Bleacher Report, Fox Sports, Yardbarker and Football Nation. I have also published a Packers blog independently since 2014. I can't wait to talk some Packers football, because truthfully, there is nothing I love more. And as always, Go Pack Go!

Look forward to the new quartet of writers.

Remember, when writing down notes it's always important to keep a low pad level.

Just out of curiosity, did any of you comment here in the past with any regularity? And if so, what was your nom de plume?

First - Welcome all!
Second - what is your salary cap space, and what is the contract structure of existing writers, as well as signed UDFA!
Third - for which team they played previously and what are their results.
After that we can talk about claim from your article!

I'm sitting there with the sledgehammer, waiting my chance to knock you down !

As long as your posts don't exceed the limits of my medication, we should be fine. Heh.

Seriously, welcome to you all, from someone the other side of the Atlantic ocean.

Excited about the "new blood" writers. Should make my -already favorite Packers fan site- even better! Hopefully, you will all provide us with some serious discussion material. I don't comment often (usually for health reasons) but appreciate CHTV's articles and comments sections immensely. Having started the first two days of the year in the hospital (watched the Packers/Lions game from my hospital bed) it is nice to have something good to look forward to! Good luck to you all; make Jersey Al proud!!! :)
