Packers Place Aaron Jones on IR, Sign WR Lazard

Jones' second season ended after suffering a knee injury in the Packers loss last Sunday.

The Packers have placed RB Aaron Jones on Injured Reserve and signed WR Allen Lazard from the Jaguars practice squad, per Tom Pelissero

Jones' second season ended after suffering a knee injury in the Packers loss last Sunday. Ian Rapoport reported it as an MCL injury. He finished the season with 934 total yards and nine touchdowns on 133 rushes, and 26 receptions. He currently leads the NFL with 5.5 yards per carry.

Allen Lazard is an undrafted rookie WR from Iowa State and did not appear in any regular season games for the Jaguars.

Sucks that he's hurt. Glad he's not playing when hurt. Now, let's do the same with Bakh, ARod, Linsley. And cut Graham, CM3, Bulaga etc... as soon as the year is over. ;)

I'm not saying he's cold blooded, but I heard his contract has a rider that requires the Packers provide him a hot rock to lay on after he eats lunch to help him digest.

There's no need to cut anybody. We're allowed 90 people on the offseason roster.

Bulaga is still under contract, so there's a lot of dead money if we cut him. Same with Graham. Matthews is a FA.

Why create holes on your roster just so you can spend draft picks and FA money replacing them? Why not keep what you have and ADD to it?

I'd love to have Bulaga as a backup tackle, even if he's be an expensive one. IF we have to use him, then he was a good insurance policy instead of trusting Rodgers health to some UDFA or rookie. Graham is a Top 10 TE.

We need to add a future starting QB. We need a safety and another corner. We need a starting guard and some better backups on the line. That brings us to the last day of the draft right there.

Don't make holes in the roster you don't have to. Our salary cap situation is good right now....we don't have to cut guys because of it.

I do think we should release Perry and try to sign a real good OLB in his place during FA. I think we should move Jackson to safety and draft a safety at the end of the first round.. Use our first pick to get a franchise QB and start developing him.

Aaron Jones hurt again. Two years in a row. We need more cowbell at running back next season.

I like that they are using the opportunity to maybe improve depth—the guard they picked up for the last game being a possible improvement for next season by way of example.

I can’t decide whether to call this the second coming of Jeff Janis or of the receiver who left football before camp. I certainly hope we can now find a way to use his height/speed combination better than we did with Janis.

One of our failings in recent years (post Super Bowl really) has been a refusal to change our approach to reflect player’s strengths instead of trying to change their strengths to fit our system in recent years (NE has done OK with the opposite approach). Hopefully that will now be a thing of the past.

There is only about 15 people to keep....So we need 38 more players.

REBUILD....And of the 15 ...three or four need major paycuts.

We suck.
